Rotary Club of Toccoa, Toccoa Elks Lodge Partners to collect, distribute 209 hoodies and coats

The Rotary Club of Toccoa and the Toccoa Elks Lodge partnered to collect and distribute 209 hoodies and coats to the Stephens County Schools and The Hope Center in Toccoa.

According to Toccoa Rotary Club Member and Coordinator Warren Johnston, it has been several years since this kind of effort had been held and that the Rotary Club made it their goal to do it again.

The hoodies were purchased using cash raised from the two organizations.

They were all new and were purchased from Jason Tanner, JayMarz Signs and Graf-X, who provided them at cost.

The hoodies were in various sizes and colors.

The coats were collected at several locations in town.  Community members dropped off a wide variety of coats in designated boxes located at The Elks Lodge, First Citizens Bank, South State Bank and at the Toccoa Falls College Gate Cottage.

The bulk of the hoodies and coats were distributed prior to Christmas, but some were provided to recipients in January 2023.

Johnston says being able to help a community that needs help is a good feeling.

Johnston says he appreciates the opportunity to join with Elks Lodge Members Jim and Jody Harper and the Rotary Club to lead this campaign and thanks the donors for their generous support.
