Rev. Jeffrey Armell Adams
Rev. Jeffrey Armell Adams, age 67, of Toccoa, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February, 3, 2026. While we mourn his absence, we rejoice in the promise of the Resurrection and the knowledge that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
For more than two decades, Jeff was a cornerstone of Tates Creek Baptist Church, living out a faith that was uniquely his own. His journey of service began as a deacon and teacher before he was ordained as a Reverend in 2015, serving faithfully as Minister of Evangelism. Jeff’s standing testament is the new church home he envisioned – a modern, beautiful sanctuary designed to house a flourishing congregation for generations to come. The structure will stand with a dignified, unwavering strength and fortitude, in the same way that Jeff fought his twenty- year battle with cancer.
His earthly life was anchored by a strong work ethic, unwavering love for his family, and his faith. Jeff was born May 29, 1958 in Athens, GA as the first of four children to the loving arms of Armell and Robbie Adams. Long before arriving in Toccoa in 2002, Jeff had already defined himself through decades of hard-earned growth. He spent twenty years as the backbone of TAPP Lumber Family, followed by ten years of tireless sweat equity building Lanier Outdoor Equipment. For Jeff, the work has always been about more than the bottom line – it’s about the craftsmanship of the trade and dignity of the people doing the heavy lifting. In his spare time, Jeff loved leading others to the Lord, fishing and spending time with family. He will be remembered most for his loud AMEN’s mid-service and being there for anyone at any time.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Armell Adams; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Maxine Yokeley. His life will be forever honored by his devoted spouse of 44 years, Sharon Adams; his loving mother, Robbie Adams and her husband Ronald Edwards; his two children, Kelley Adams Lips and husband, Erik J. Lips and Phillip Adams and wife Ashley Adams; and his three beloved grandchildren, Riley Adams, Avery Adams, and Ace Adams; also his siblings, Alan Adams (Debra), Julie Jackson (Bryant), and Blake Adams (Jennifer). He also leaves behind a host of extended family, church family, past employees, along with a multitude of dear friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 4pm – 7pm Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Everyone will meet at Tates Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, February 8, 2026 for A Celebration of Life Service at three o’clock Sunday, with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty, the Rev. Roger Whiten, and the Rev. Todd McCollum officiating.
Burial will follow at Tates Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Adam Jackson, Randy Yokeley, Blake Adams, Erik Lips, Mark Wilkinson, Jr., Bryant Jackson, Alan Adams, Chris Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Ace Adams will serve as honorary pallbearer.
