Rebels End Regular Season Strong

The Stephens County Middle School Rebels ended a 5 game losing skid with a doubleheader sweep of Elbert County Middle School on Thursday.

In game one, Garrett Pless and William Roush combined to limit Elbert to just 2 hits and the Rebels banged out 12 hits to roll to a 9-4 victory. The Rebels got 3 hits each by Will Keener and Ben Stowe, and 2 hits by Patrick Murray. Stowe added 2 RBI’s and Murray had a RBI for the Rebels.

In game two, the Rebels scored 7 runs in the first 3 innings to roll to an 11-4 win. Ben and Bailey Stowe had 2 hits each, and Pless added 2 hits with a couple of RBI’s to lead the offense.
Ben Stowe got the win on the mound going 4 1/3 innings and striking out 5. Keener got the final 2 outs for the Rebels.

With the doubleheader win, the Rebels finish the regular season at 6-5 and will face Franklin County Middle School in the post season tournament on Wednesday at 6:30 P.M. in Hartwell.
