Rebels clench playoff berth
The Stephens County Middle School Rebels football team improved to 3 & 0 on the season last Thursday with a 38 to 14 home victory over Madison County.
Rebels quarterback Kaiden Harbin had 3 pass completions for 46 yards and 2 touchdowns. Harbin also ran for 71 yards, had a 2-point conversion pass and ran for three 2-point conversions. Other offensive leaders were: Dallas Hague who had 2 pass receptions for touchdowns and 2 rushing TD’s, and Peanut Arthur who had 89 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Kurante Wiley led the team on defense with 6 tackles, a sack, and one forced fumble.
Coach Matt Miller said it was a big win for the Rebels, because it clinched a spot in the playoffs. Stephens County will have this Thursday off, but will return to action Thursday, September 12, when they host Elbert County—kickoff will be at 5:30 at The Reservation
