Rebels Basketball Results

The Stephens County Middle School 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball teams had a strong week this past week.

On Monday, December 9th the Rebels 7th grade defeated Rabun County 38-16. Braz Adams and Tray Martin scored 7 points and Cashus Roebuck and Noah Ward added 6 each for the Rebels. The Rebels 8th grade boys downed Rabun County 44-30. Kaiden Harbin led the 8th grade boys with 17 points and Ka’ Runte Riley added 9.

On Thursday, December 12th the Rebels 7th grade boys defeated Franklin County 31-26. Roebuck led the Rebels with 11 points and Martin added 7. Harbin poured in 18 points for the Rebels 8th grade boys, and Luke Seal hit the go-ahead basket with eight seconds remaining to lead SCMS to a 34-32 close win over Franklin County.

The win moved the Rebels 8th grade boys to an overall record of 9-1 and currently tied for first in the region with Rabun County.

The 7th grade boys are now 8-2 and in 2nd place behind Hart County.

The SCMS Lady Rebels 7th grade squad fell to Rabun County 32-10 on Monday. Ella Fletcher scored 6 points to lead the Lady Rebels. The 7th grade girls bounced back with an impressive comeback home win over Franklin County 36-28. SCMS was down by 10 at the half. Fletcher scored 11 points and McKenneah Merritt 10 to lead the comeback.

The Lady Rebels 8th grade girls also earned a split during the week. Rabun County downed SCMS 47-27 on Monday. Kiya Morgan scored 12 points and Emma Kate Powell 8 to lead the 8th graders. Stephens County bounced back on Thursday with a strong 2nd half to down Franklin County 35-27. The Lady Rebels used balanced scoring led by Morgan and Samari Rambo with 9 points each and La’Niya Johnson and Carlie Brady netting 6 each.

The Lady Rebels 7th and 8th grade girls will host Elbert County on Monday, December 16th at 4:30 P.M. with 8th grade recognition, and host Gainesville on Thursday at 4:30 P.M.
