Raiders Sweep Indians in Mt. Airy

Judge Wilbanks scored 38 points and Jake Mihalick added 26 to lead Habersham Central to a 75-47 win over Stephens County Friday night in Mt. Airy.

The Indians led by as many as 9 in the 1st half, but Habersham’s two big men handled all of the scoring to lead the Raiders back and held a 9-point lead at the half.

Habersham outscored Stephens County 21-5 in the 3rd quarter to break the game open.

Stephens County was led by Kaiden Harbin and Colsen Ivey with 14 points each.

The Raiders improved to 8-2 on the season. Stephens County falls to 2-9.

In the girls’ game, Habersham Central used strong defensive pressure to take a 30-point lead at the half and roll to a 61-29 win.

The Lady Raiders placed three players in double figures led by Sadie Chambers with 12 points, Daytona Underwood added 11 and Tessa Murdock 10 for Habersham now 5-4 on the season.

Stephens County, now 6-6 on the year, was led by Aleah Curry with 9 points.

After 6 games in 10 days, the Indians and Lady Indians will take a break until December 30th when they travel to Oglethorpe County.
