Public Notices for June 17 Special Primary Election

Advanced voting for the June 17th, Special Primary for Public Service Commissioner will be held at the Stephens County Historic Courthouse located at 37 W. Tugalo St. Toccoa, GA 30577, on the following days and times.

Tuesday May 27th – Saturday May 31st. 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM

Monday June 2nd – Saturday June 7th 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM

Monday June 9th – Friday June 13th 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM

A Drop Box will be available for absentee ballots inside the Historic Courthouse ONLY during early voting hours per SB 202, and will close on June 13th at 5:00 PM.  Ballots may be dropped off until 7:00 PM on June 17th, 2025 to the election staff located at 37 W. Tugalo St. Toccoa, GA 30577.

Absentee Ballot Applications may be submitted for the June 17th, 2025 Special Primary for Public Service Commissioner until Friday June 6th, 2025.

 

The Stephens County Board of Elections and Registration will have a quorum present on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, beginning at 8:00 am and will remain in session until the completion of their duties for the June 17, 2025, Special Primary election for Public Service Commission districts 2 and 3 pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-490. This will take place in the Historic Courthouse located at 37 West Tugalo Street in Toccoa and is open to the public.

 

In accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-492 notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the returns of votes cast in the June 17, 2025 Special Primary for Public Service Commissioner Election shall commence on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 beginning at 7:00 pm and continuing until complete.  Said computation and canvassing shall be held at the Historic Courthouse located at 37 W. Tugalo Street Toccoa, Georgia.  Candidates or his or her representative and any member of the general public are permitted to be in attendance during this process.

 

The Stephens County Board of Elections and Registrations will hold a special called meeting on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. to certify the June 17, 2025 Special Primary Election for Public Service Commission districts 2 and 3 pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-493(k).      This meeting will be held in the Historic Courthouse located at 37 West Tugalo Street, Toccoa, GA 30577 and is open to the public.

 

IN ACCORDANCE WITH O.C.G.A. 21-2-379.25(c) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTING WILL COMMENCE ON TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2025 BEGINNING AT 9:00 AM AND WILL CONTINUE FROM DAY TO DAY UNTIL COMPLETE.  TESTING WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE STEPHENS COUNTY HISTORIC COURTHOUSE LOCATED AT 37 W. TUGALO STREET TOCCOA, GEORGIA.  TESTING AND PREPARATION WILL BE CONDUCTED ON VOTING COMPONENTS THAT WILL BE USED DURING THE JUNE 17, 2025 SPECIAL PRIMARY FOR PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSIONER DISTRICTS 2 AND 3.  REPRESENTATIVES OF POLITICAL PARTIES AND BODIES, NEWS MEDIA, AND THE PUBLIC ARE PERMITTED TO OBSERVE SUCH TESTING.
