Public invited to participate in Main Street Community photograph

Main Street Toccoa has set the date for the annual Living on Main Street community photograph as Wednesday, July 24 at 8 a.m. at the Historic County Courthouse.

“Each year, downtown business owners, city staff, county staff, police officers, firefighters and members of the public gather together to take a large group photograph, which is featured in a two-page spread in Living on Main Street,” according to Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton.

Living on Main Street is an annual publication of Main Street Toccoa that is disbursed to tourism destinations across the State of Georgia, including the Toccoa Welcome Center and the Lavonia Visitor Information Center, and has an annual distribution of approximately 4,000 copies.

“The photograph is scheduled to be taken promptly at 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 24,” Hamilton said. ” The public is invited to participate in the group photograph.  Members of various city committees, including the Downtown Development Authority, the Toccoa Planning Commission, the Historic Preservation Commission, and the Promotions Committee, are requested to stay following the photograph for individual committee photographs.”

In the event of inclement weather, Hamilton said the photograph will be rescheduled forWednesday, July 31, at the same time.

Again, the public is encouraged to come out and represent downtown Toccoa.
