Positive Cases Down Across State in Latest Report

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 70 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 2,834 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Monday afternoon.

There were additional deaths listed in Habersham and Hart counties.

The latest report now has Habersham County with 136 deaths and now 4,518 positive cases of the virus, and Hart County is reporting 1,626 cases and now 35 deaths.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has  36 deaths and 2,242 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,414 cases and still 36 deaths, and Banks County is still reporting 30 deaths and now 1,530 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health the number of positive cases across the state were much lower than the norm with 1,307 cases reported, for a total now of 806,119 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those about 10 percent were hospitalized for a total now of 54,883 that have been hospitalized, and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen by 56 to 14,689.
