Piedmont College to host Amethyst Baroque Ensemble later this month

The Amethyst Baroque Ensemble will perform at 7:30pm on February 22, 2020, in the Piedmont College Chapel.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Ensemble musicians are Dr. Alexander Snyder Dunbar, Jody Miller, Marcy Brenner, and Adrin Akins.

The musicians will perform a variety of instruments including the Baroque and Classical violin, recorder, and cello, which were instruments played in the time of Bach and Mozart.

The ensemble is based in Athens and Atlanta and performs regularly throughout the state.

The Chapel, adjacent to the Conservatory of Music, is located at 922 Central Avenue in Demorest.

More than 200 students or about 15 percent of the college’s undergraduate population participate in music academic programs, ensembles, and performances.
