Open Mic Monday’s Wild Card Competition is tonight

After the December installment of the Historic Ritz Theatre’s Open Mic Monday competition was postponed, Main Street Toccoa is gearing up for its second attempt at the Wild Card competition.

According to Ritz Theatre General Manager Tami Mayhugh, the December competition was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances; but, will now be held tonight at 7:00 p.m.

Mayhugh says the competition is limited to just 10 contestants each, so anyone interested in competing is asked to sign-up online by emailing [email protected].

She says you can also sign up at the door the night of the show, on a first-come, first-up basis starting at 6:15 p.m.

Mayhugh tells WNEG News each month features a different category for the competitors. She says this month’s category will be Wild Card.

Mayhugh says the Wild Card competition welcomes solo artists, duets, trios, and/or bands from any genre of music.

This will be the fourth installment of this year’s season of the Ritz Theatre’s annual competition.

The competition winner will be decided by a three-judge panel.

Winners from each of the monthly competitions will come back for the Winner’s Showcase on Monday, February 15, to perform.

Like prior seasons, Open Mic Monday is a free event for both participants and the public.

Mayhugh encourages the public to come hear some great talent and cheer on your favorite performers.
