Number of Positive Cases of Covid Continue to Drop in Area

The latest DPH Covid-19 Report continued to show a much lower number of reported positive cases across the counties of Stephens, Habersham, Franklin, Hart, Rabun, and Banks with just 24 cases reported across the six county area, but there were deaths reported in Habersham and Hart since Tuesday.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 67 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 2,774 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report has one additional death in Habersham County with a total now of 125 deaths in the county due to complications of the virus, and now 4,448 positive cases of the virus. Hart County is also reporting a death, bringing that total to 33, and now 1,593 cases.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has had 33 deaths and now 2,193 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,388 cases and still 34 deaths,  and Banks County is still reporting 28 deaths and now 1,492 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were 2,445 positive cases across the state since the Tuesday report. There has now been a total of 780,494 confirmed positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 281 more were hospitalized for a total now of 52,543, and the total death count due to complications of the virus rose by 118 to 13,599.
