New ways to participate in Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program

The Salvation Army in Toccoa has started hanging their Angel Ornaments on their annual Angel Trees and this year, there are a number of ways you can pick an angel to provide gifts for this Christmas.

Toccoa Service Center Director Rebecca Dixon says the Angel Tree Program is now in its 43rd year.

Dixon says the Salvation Army Angels are ready to be “adopted” for the 2022 Christmas Season.

She says over 500 children have been signed up this year to receive Christmas gifts.

Each Angel Ornament shows the angel’s name, age, clothes sizes, and toys or other items the child would like to have on Christmas. Dixon says the gifts need to be brand new.

According to Dixon, there are a number of ways to adopt an Angel.

“You can go to either the Toccoa or Cornelia Walmart Stores, the Beall’s stores in Toccoa and Cornelia, or online on the Salvation Army of Northeast Georgia website and Dixon says they have a registry set up online at Walmart.com,” she said.

The deadline to submit gifts to the Toccoa Salvation Army Center is December 10th. The Salvation Army will distribute gifts on December 13.

Dixon says the Gideons will help the Salvation Army distribute gifts.

Again, the deadline to return gifts to the Salvation Army is December 10.
