Ms. Ellen Elizabeth Smith

Ms. Ellen Elizabeth Smith, age 31 of Toccoa passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Toccoa.

A daughter of Lestley Smith and the late Laura Ragsdale Smith, she was born June 23, 1995, in Stephens County, Georgia where she had lived all her life.  She was a Christian.  She loved to play her guitar and sing and would brighten up the room with her singing and playing.  She was employed as a cashier with Buck’s Superette.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Ragsdale Smith, grandmother, Cynthia Dale Norris Smith and by a son, Owen Wade Overstreet.

She is survived by her father, Lestley Smith of Toccoa; three children, Laura Rutledge of South Carolina, Greyson Smith and Elizabeth Overstreet both of Toccoa; her companion, Jeremy Overstreet of Toccoa; sister, Cindy Smith Brothers of Eastanollee; brother, Jarrod Smith of Florida; grandmother, Loutrell Adams of Toccoa; two uncles.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 20, 2026, 3 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend William Brothers officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Lestley Smith, Barry Goss, Allen McIntyre, Stacey Justice, Aaron Rutledge and Jason Maxwell.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery, Westminster, South Carolina with The Reverend Chris Roberts officiating.
