Mrs. Ruby Lee Adams King
Mrs. Ruby Lee Adams King, age 92 of Toccoa passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A daughter of the late James (Jim) and Jewel McCurley Adams, the oldest of six children, she was born in Anderson, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Toccoa, Georgia. She was a housewife who enjoyed sewing, reading, trips with family and good food. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. She left many recipes behind for use as she reached “retirement” age for the kitchen. She only worked outside the home a few times intermittently. Most of her time was spent at home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. King, by two siblings, Edna Adams Miller and Lucius Adams and by a son, John W. King.
Survivors include her children, Linda King Witcher and William Anthony King both of Toccoa; grandchild, Michelle Fleming and husband Andy, two great-grandchildren, Ashley and CJ Fleming all of Toccoa; siblings, David Adams of Marietta, Georgia, Ernest Eugene (Gene) Adams of Toccoa and Christine Adams Cheek of Anderson, South Carolina; many nieces and nephews belonging to her siblings and her husband’s siblings from Toccoa and across Georgia, South Carolina, Alaska and California.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 10, 2020, 4 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Lester Cowan officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 p.m. until time for the service. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Ruby Lee Adams King.
