Mrs. Reba Jean Cheek Strickland
Mrs. Reba Jean Cheek Strickland, age 74 of Strickland Way, Lavonia passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Fred and Bertha Fowler Cheek, she was born January 6, 1946 in Stephens County, Georgia having lived in Stephens and Franklin Counties all her life. She retired from Reliable Electric and later owned the Game Room in Martin. She was a member of Gateway Community Chapel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Strickland in 2011, by a son, Wayne Spencer, by the father of her children, Claude Spencer and by three brothers, Lamar Cheek, Edward Cheek and Donnie Cheek.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Cash and fiancé` Darrell Smith of Eastanollee and Pat Mitchell of Salisbury, Maryland; son, Gary Spencer of Lavonia; step-sons, Curtis Strickland of Greenville, South Carolina and Ricky (Lee Ann) Strickland of Easley, South Carolina; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Sharon Cheek of Toccoa; sister, Jewell Whitmire of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 4, 2020, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Don Scott officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Due to the health conditions of our community, social distancing must be observed. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Roselane Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Jean Cheek Strickland.
