Mrs. Qunnie Mae Weaver Rider

Mrs. Qunnie Mae Weaver Rider, age 86 of Richardson Street, Toccoa passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at the home of her son.

A daughter of the late Hillard Burley Weaver and Bessie Jane Finley Weaver, she was born April 1, 1933 in Stephens CountyGeorgia where she lived all her life. She was employed for a number of years at Sherino’s Restaurant and later with State Restaurant and was a homemaker. She was a member of Old Toccoa Baptist Church and the Sarah Richards 55 Sunday School Class. She loved God, her family and anyone she met. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Rider in 2010, siblings, Donald and Burley Weaver, Jewell Scott and Joyce Weaver, son-in-law, Mark Shirley and great-grandchild, Carson McLeod.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Allen of HazelhurstGeorgia and Donna Shirley of Toccoa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Nita Rider and Ricky and Denise Rider both of Toccoa;

grandchildren, Brennan Rider, Cameron Rider, Brandon Rider, Jennifer Roberson, Jordan Roberson, Jonathan Roberson, Dusty Allen, Dana McLeod, Sheena Thomason, Shelly Rider, Casey Shirley and Brittany Davis; a number of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Collins of Toccoa and Merle Chitwood of Dalton; three brothers, Howard Weaver of McAllen, Texas, James Weaver of Thompson, Georgia and Bennie Weaver of Cornelia, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 5, 2020, 3:30 p.m. at the Old Toccoa Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Tommy Childress, The Reverend Roger Elrod and The Reverend Dusty Allen officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Brennan Rider, Cameron Rider, Casey Shirley, Chris Davis, Nathan McLeod and Jordan Roberson. Great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will be at the home of Johnny Rider, 209 Richardson Street, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Old Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Ronnie Collins officiating. The Acree-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Qunnie Mae Weaver Rider.
