Mrs. Patricia Carolyn Williams Davis

Mrs. Patricia Carolyn Williams Davis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at her home in Toccoa on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the age of 81.

 

Pat was born in Toccoa, Georgia on August 16, 1940 to the late Hugh A. and Kathleen Wilson Williams.  She was a 1958 graduate of Toccoa High School where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen.  She was a graduate of The Woman’s College of Georgia in Milledgeville in 1962 with a BS in home economics where she was very involved as corresponding secretary of the Recreation Association, President of the Penguin Club, Song Leader, Miss Aurora Court and Junior Advisor.  She later earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia in 1973.

 

Pat’s professional career spanned over three decades and impacted the lives of hundreds of children and countless others.  She began her teaching career with the Stephens County Board of Education in 1972 and later retired from the Barrow County Board of Education in 2002. After college, she worked at Rich’s in Atlanta, Georgia and Jordan Marsh in Miami, Florida.

 

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Toccoa where she was a member of the UMW Birdie May Jones Circle 1973; Junior Woman’s Club of Toccoa 1973, Department Chair Toccoa Centennial Committee 1974; Co-Chair Toccoa-Stephens County Civic Center 1973-Executive Board; Stephens County Hospital Auxiliary 1973; Georgia Association of Education 1972; Outstanding New Member, Toccoa Junior Woman’s Club 1973-1974.  For the last 20 years, she has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa.

 

As much as she was dedicated to her work, Pat cared even more for her family.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, Hugh A. and Kathleen Williams. She was twice married and both preceded her in death, Marvin Harrison Dunlavy and Calvin Reese Davis.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Elizabeth (Lisa) Dunlavy of Athens; her son, Frank Young Davis, II and wife Sarah of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Philip Harrison Wierson and wife Christina of Cumming and Adicyn Reese Davis of Dallas, Texas.

 

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 30, 2022, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend David Ritcey officiating.

 

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from noon until the service time.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

 

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Patricia Carolyn Davis.
