Mrs. Mary Ansley Herron

Mrs. Mary Ansley Herron, age 89, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Pruitt Healthcare of Toccoa.

Born September 18, 1930 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late William Dolphus and Sally Belle Pritchett Ansley.

She was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church.  Mrs. Herron graduated from Eastanollee High School in 1947 and attended Breneau College in Gainesville with two years credit in Early Childhood Development.  She worked at Coats and Clark for 4 years, was a teacher in Day Care and the Head Start Program for 12 years.  Mary’s hobbies were sewing, crocheting, reading, working in with her flowers and being with her family, working and helping others. One of her favorite sayings was “I wish I could do more, but there is just not enough hours in the day.”

Family members include her sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Brenda Herron, Wayne and Jean Herron, and Johnny and Petra Herron; her daughter, Yvonne Bollinger; grandchildren, Michael Herron, Casey and Andie Herron, Abby and Troy Bedichek, Nathan Herron, Kimberly and Caleb Holland , and Cody and Kelli Bollinger; great-grandchildren, Riley Herron, Eli Herron, Brady Herron, Heidi Herron, Karsyn Bedichek, Andrew Bedichek, Anslee Herron, and Aiden Bollinger; sisters, Darlene Williams and Gwen LeCroy; her sister-in-law, Peggy Moss; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Clarence  Herron, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Ansley and Grace Miller; her brother, Wilton Ansley; and her son-in-law, Clayton Bollinger.

Graveside services will be held at eleven o’clock Friday, September 11, 2020 at Roselane Cemetery with Dr. Tim Miller and the Rev. Jay Mosser officiating.  Burial will follow.

Mike Herron, Casey Herron, Nathan Herron, Cody Bollinger, Troy Bedichek, and Caleb Holland will serve as pallbearers.

The family will not be having a formal visitation.  Everyone is invited to attend the graveside service.  Due to the conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, social distancing will be observed.  Masks are encouraged for those attending the service.
