Mrs. Mary Agnes Smith Vandiver

Mrs. Mary Agnes Smith Vandiver, age 69 of Vandiver Road, Carnesville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at her residence.

A daughter of the late John Clayton Smith and Ruth Roberts Smith, she was born October 2, 1956, in Stephens County, Georgia, having lived most of her life in Franklin County, Georgia. She was of the Baptist faith and was an active participant at the Stephens County Senior Center. She was a great cook, caregiver, and hard worker. She loved Christmas, puzzles, and was a Boggle Champion. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Weldon and Jennie Dooley.

She is survived by her husband, James Vandiver of the home; five sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Sharlotte Vandiver of Carnesville, Georgia, Jeremy Vandiver of Pelzer, South Carolina, Jamie and Beth Vandiver of Eastanollee, Georgia, Allen and Kelly Vandiver of Toccoa, Georgia and Matthew and Amber Vandiver of Carnesville, Georgia; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and sister, Bonnie Robinson of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 25, 2026, 11 a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Rodney Crunkleton and The Reverend Brandon Crunkleton officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Neil Crunkleton, Corey Willis, Anthony Phillips, Brandon Crunkleton, Blake Crunkleton, and Chris Crunkleton.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Mary Agnes Smith Vandiver.
