Mrs. Marryie Grace McJunkin Lockee

Mrs. Marryie Grace McJunkin Lockee, age 59, of Toccoa, passed away Thursday November 11th, 2021, at her home.

A daughter of the late Raymond McJunkin and Louise McCurry Guthrie, sweet Marryie Grace was born on October 12, 1962 in Toccoa, Georgia.  She was a 1980 graduate of Stephens County High School and was a member of Highpoint Community Worship Center.

Marryie Grace worked different jobs in her life but the one she always felt the most passionate about was the one that she didn’t get paid for, taking care of her beautiful feline furbabies. Marryie loved all her beautiful cats and took the utmost care of each of them. She would also take in strays and have them spayed or neutered. Her passion and love for all animals, especially cats, gave you a tiny glimpse of the size of her heart. I’m sure the love for her furbabies will be exactly what she wants to be remembered for.

Marryie Grace was a huge collector. She loved everything Christmas. She loved trees, lights, ornaments, any kind of beautiful holiday decor made Marryie smile. She loved the holidays and loved giving. She also has a very impressive collection of cookie Jars and Hallmark Ornaments. She loved jewelry, clothes and purses. She always loved her lipsticks and her signature color was red. She was a beauty inside and out. She enjoyed listening to Stevie Nick’s and Van Morrison.

Over the years, her health had deteriorated to the point that it was very difficult for her to walk. She was like the energizer bunny, she kept going and going. She loved to shop, thrift and spend time with her beautiful sisters and other family members. Marryie was known to be kind-hearted. She never met a stranger. She was always helping someone in need. She was one of the sweetest souls you’d ever meet. She is surely going to be missed by so many.

Survivors include her husband, Clay Lockee, of the home; her sisters and brother-in-law, Ginger McJunkin and Raikol Adams (Nick) both of Toccoa; brother and sister-in-law, Trent Guthrie (Ingrid) of Pflugerville, Texas; half brother, Craig McJunkin (Mindy); step-father, Ken Guthrie; three nieces and one nephew, Lynsie, Rheanna, Stephanie and Cameron; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that meant the world to her and too many close friends to list all of them.  She was preceded in death by her precious mother and best friend, Louise McCurry Guthrie, by a brother Brent Guthrie and by her father Raymond McJunkin.
