Mrs. Joyce Ledford Terrell

Mrs. Joyce Ledford Terrell, age 85, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her home in Hoschton.

Joyce was born in Habersham County on October 28, 1940. Joyce’s kind spirit was loved by many and could be generous to a fault. She worked a few jobs outside of the home but mainly was a huge support in her husband’s ministry and a loving and caring mother to her two daughters and also later to her four grandchildren.

Later in their marriage, Joyce and Jimmy enjoyed many travel adventures. They were lucky to travel together to France, Amsterdam, Italy, England as well as multiple trips to Hawaii and Alaska which Joyce absolutely enjoyed with childlike joy.

Joyce’s husband of 67 years, Jimmy Terrell, is one of the survivors. They met and dated in high school so in total they were together for 71 years. The two of them were soul mates in the truest sense. When Jimmy met Joyce, he knew she was the one. Joyce sent a message through a mutual friend that she wanted to meet that boy. Their bond and love continued to grow stronger each year. As he always said to her “you are my forever sweetheart.”

Additional survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Tony Stinson of Ringgold, Georgia and Amy and Will Matteson of Winder, Georgia; grandchildren, Ryan Stinson, Kari Stinson, Cassidy Matteson and Courtney Matteson.

The family would like to express thanks and appreciation to Amada Senior Care and the wonderful caregivers who helped with caring for Joyce. The caregivers were Aniyah Demby, Kesha Brown, Lucy Gomez, Lakeisha Young, Abolade Sewo and Tyke Kimble. The family also owes thanks and appreciation to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice for all their wonderful care.

Friends and family will be received at Acree-Davis Funeral Home in Toccoa, Georgia on Wednesday, April 8, from 12-2 with the funeral service immediately following in the Hillcrest Chapel with The Reverend Don Scott officiating.

Interment will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens with Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Joyce Ledford Terrell.
