Mrs. Joyce Ann Andrews
With hearts full of gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Mrs. Joyce Ann Andrews, who peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2026, at Stephens County Hospital with her children at her side. A devoted Christian, she lived her life anchored in faith, love, and service to others, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Born May 24, 1938, in Banks County, Georgia, Joyce was the oldest daughter of Benjamin Palmer “Pat” Andrews and Annie Carter Andrews. Married in 1960 to the late Hoyt Kenneth “Kent” Andrews, they enjoyed 58 years of life together with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Andrews enjoyed working and was employed for many years at Singer Manufacturing and Toccoa Casket Company. She continued working at Habersham Plantation and Lanier Clothing until she was almost 80 years old.
She was a lifelong member of Lamar Christian Church where she sang in the choir for many years and was a member of the ladies Sunday School class. She was a faithful Christian woman who loved her church and church family.
Mrs. Andrews is survived by her children and their spouses: Bryan (Rhonda) Andrews of Mount Airy, Georgia; Tori (James Childers) Higginbotham of Toccoa, Georgia; two grandchildren and their spouses: Caleb (Victoria) Higginbotham of Toccoa, Georgia and Hillary (Zack) Myers of Alto, Georgia; four great grandchildren: River, Willow and Tallulah Higginbotham and Larkin Myers and chosen grandchild, Jase Childers. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Rosett Andrews Poole of Canton, Georgia, formerly of Toccoa, along with Mrs. Poole’s two daughters and their families, Kristy (Matt) Hedrick of Canton, children, Carter and Harrison, and Andrea (late Johnny) Hendrix of Canton, son, Cody (Autumn). Mrs. Andrews is also survived by her late husband’s brothers and sisters-in-law as well as many special nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and special friends who were dear to her heart.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Lamar Christian Church, 3247 SR-105, Baldwin, Georgia with Pastor Chad Holcomb officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Caleb Higginbotham, Zack Myers, Matt Hedrick, Mark Brown, Jay Franklin and Dalton Conn. Mrs. Mallory Parr, Mrs. Peggy Vaughan and Mrs. Willette Wade will provide music.
The family will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the Emergency Department at Stephens County Hospital for their care and compassion.
Interment will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Joyce Andrews.
