Mrs. Johnnie Hue Kesler Smith

Mrs. Johnnie Hue Kesler Smith, age 96, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday,

September 20, 2020 at The Clary Care Center of Toccoa.  Born January 11, 1924 in Jackson County, GA she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lamb Hugh Kesler.

She lived the majority of her life in Toccoa.  Johnnie was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wilburn N. (Butch) Smith, Jr. and Kathy; grandson, Robert W. (Robbie) Smith; great-grandson, Braiden H. Smith; sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kesler Skelton; sister-in-law, Mrs. Anne Smith Ford; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilburn N. (Billy) Smith, Sr.; and her sister, Mrs. Olivia Kesler Wright.

The family will have a private graveside service at the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Rev. David Ritcey and the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Burial will follow.

The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers; Wallace Bruce, Tom Middlebrooks, Richard Skelton, Jerry Wright, Bobby Jordan, and John Farrow.

Flowers are optional.  Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Toccoa First Baptist Church or to Tates Creek Baptist Church.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Clary Care Center, the staff of Amedisys, and also to some very special friends, Betty Adams, Carolyn Andrews, Delta Cartwright, Kimberly Franco, Kelsea McDowell, and Nancy Stowe.
