Mrs. Jimmie Ruth Blair Friar

Mrs. Jimmie Ruth Blair Friar age 89 of Toccoa passed away Wednesday March 11, 2020 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Farris Blair and Nezzie Payne Blair Taylor, she was born May 7, 1930 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She retired from Snyder Brothers with a number of years of service. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Toccoa where she attended the Journey Sunday School Class and served on the Benevolence committee. She was also a member of the XYZ Club and Clan Blair Society. She was preceded in death by her husband William H. Friar in 1997. sister Josephine Odum, step-sister Mary Nell Taylor, step-brothers Logan Taylor, Charles Taylor, T.H. Taylor Jr., Hershel Taylor, and Roy Taylor.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Jill and Gary Crossfield of Tampa, Florida, son and daughter-in-law Tim and Renee Friar of Tampa, Florida. grandchildren Blair Martin, Roth Friar, Drew Friar, step-grandchildren Blaise Potts, Gary Crossfield Jr. and Christine Cumpton, seven great grandchildren, and special caregivers Linda Bell and Melinda Bell.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 14, 2020 at 3 P.M. at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend David Ritcey officiating. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:30 til service time.

Flowers are to be omitted with memorials made to First Baptist Church of Toccoa 475 East Tugalo Street. Toccoa, Georgia 30577 or Shiners Hospital for Children 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa. FL 33607

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Al Thomason, Billy Jarrett, Mike Cox, Russell Biggers, David Cox and Roth Friar.

Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
