Mrs. Francine Purcell Lee
Mrs. Francine Purcell Lee, age 83, of Toccoa, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born April 4, 1943, in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Robbie Powers Purcell. She was retired from the Stephens County School System, where she worked in the library of Toccoa Elementary School for over 20 years. Francine previously owned and operated Tot Town Daycare in Anderson, SC, for 11 years, and she also worked for a period of time at Coats and Clark in Toccoa.
Francine was best known for her genuine care and concern for others. She had a nurturing heart and was always ready to encourage those who needed it most. Her infectious laugh, joyful spirit, and unwavering devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She and her late husband, Danny, shared 60 years of marriage and faithfully ministered to others throughout their lives together. In recent years, they were devoted members of Encounter Church of Toccoa.
Family members include sons and daughter-in-law, Allan and Laura Lee of Spartanburg, SC and Jeff Lee of Toccoa; daughters and sons-in-law, Christie and Craig Yerby of Osawatomie, KS; Becky and Danny Meetze of Blacksburg, SC; grandchildren, Greyson and Jenna Yerby, Jessie and Mark Palmer, Laiken Yerby, Michael Lee, Morgan and Luke Pearson, Matthew Lee, Sydney Meetze and husband, Lander Shook, Kylee Meetze, Alayna Lee, and Abbie Meetze; great-granddaughters, Sadie Palmer, Annie Palmer, Miley Palmer, Wren Yerby and great-grandsons, Walker Pearson, Eli Pearson, and Bodie Pearson; a sister, Mildred Haddock, and brothers, Robert Purcell, Kenneth Purcell, Terry Purcell, and a brother-in-law, James Buddy Lee of NC; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny G. Lee; her brother Michael Purcell; and a great-granddaughter, Callie Rose Palmer.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 1:00pm – 2:45pm Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at three o’clock Saturday, August 1, 2026 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Danny Meetze officiating.
Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Terry Purcell, Stevie Purcell, Mark Palmer, Luke Pearson, Michael Lee, Matthew Lee, Dylan Mitchell, and Lander Shook.
Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
