Mrs. Deborah “Debbie” Gail Crumpton Matthews

Mrs. Deborah “Debbie” Gail Crumpton Matthews, age 74 of Martin, Georgia passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, at her residence.

A daughter of the late Willis Fred Crumpton and Agatha Wilmot Crumpton, she was born January 23, 1952, in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all of her life.  Debbie was employed with the Stephens County Hospital as a CNA for a number of years before she retired. She was a member of the Rock Creek Baptist Church.  Debbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her husband David Garwood Matthews of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Christopher Shirley and Amanda of Toccoa, Stephen Eric Shirley and Nickie of Toccoa, Charles Ryan Matthews of Toccoa and Shane David Matthews of Douglasville, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Louise Crumpton of Toccoa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 22, 2026, 4 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Byron Kennedy officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Kenneth Whitworth, Alan Matthews, Damien Matthews, Tyler Shirley, Logan Shirley and C J Shirley and should assemble at the funeral home by 3:30 Wednesday.

Visitation for family and friends will be at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the service time at 4 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will be in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with The Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Charge of the arrangements for Mrs. “Debbie” Crumpton Matthews.
