Mrs. Betty Jean Thacker Sheriff

Mrs. Betty Jean Thacker Sheriff, age 83, of Eastanollee, passed away at her home, Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Born September 1, 1938 in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Rich and Zora Farmer Thacker.

She was a member of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Coats American with 41 years of service.

Family members include her daughter, Lynn Sheriff of Eastanollee; son and daughter-in-law, Russell “Russ” and Jessica Sheriff of Eastanollee; grandchildren, Jennifer Clement and Michael, Kason Sheriff, Kagan Sheriff, Kambry Sheriff; great-grandchildren, Belle Carter and Caleb Clement; sister, Pat Van Alstine; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Teresa Thacker; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clinon Sheriff; and her sister, Nellie Jo Peeples.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5pm – 8pm on Monday, September 6, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at three o’clock Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Tom’s Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Marcus, the Rev. Jerrell Beatty and the Rev. Tony Byrd officiating.

Burial will follow at Tom’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Anthony Scott, Matt Thacker, Alan Peeples, Jeff Bowen, Randy Vaughn, Jeff Leverette, Keith Roberts, and Dylan Lewis.
