Mrs. Barbara Ruth Holcomb Pitts

Mrs. Barbara Ruth Holcomb Pitts, age 86 of Cherry Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Daughter of the late Conrad and Florence Holcomb she was born on June 23, 1939, in Clayton Georgia. Ruth worked at Radio Shack in Toccoa for most of her life. She retired from there in 2018. After retiring, she became a part-time caregiver. She was a faithful member of The POINTE and spent 30 plus years working and ministering to the babies in the nursery in the church.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Alice Standridge and Lois Bellamy and by her brother, Doyle Holcomb.

She is survived by her husband, Jackson Pitts of the home; son, Brian Pitts of Toccoa; daughter, Melenie Brock of the home; grandkids, Major Matthew Pitts (Kari), Mrs. Halie Swords (Zek), Ms. Amber Swanson and Mr. Tyler Brock; great-grandkids, Cloe, Calie, Briana and Claire, Brayden, Bryleigh, Ezra, Madylin, Mason, Zoey and Jackson; great-great grandchild, Willow; numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

Funeral services will be held at The Pointe Church of God Wednesday, February 4, 2026, 2 p.m. with The Reverend Jerry Chitwood and The Reverend Chad Smith officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Matthew Pitts, Tyler Brock, Steve Wood, Zek Swords, Brayden McConnell and Jonathan Martin.  Kenneth Carter and Donnie Carter will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Entombment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Mausoleum with The Reverend Chad Smith officiating.
