Mrs. Azalee Lilly Chatham

Ms. Azalee Chatham, age 92, of Mize Road, Toccoa, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the home of her daughter.
A daughter of the late John Chatham and Emmie Tucker Chatham, she was born March 15, 1933 in Franklin County, GA, and lived most of her life in Stephens County.
Ms. Chatham worked 20 years with Singer Furniture and 20 years with the Rebel Restaurant before retiring to keep her great-grandchildren.  She was a member of Mullins Ford Baptist Church.  She loved baking, sewing and working in her yard.  Her strength and grace inspired all who knew her.
Family members include her daughter, Diane Brown-Wright (Philip) of Toccoa; two granddaughters, Selena (James) Rees of Toccoa and Sharon (Shane) Angel of Eastanollee; great-grandchildren, Lauren (Max) Nunally, Alayna Rees and Mason (Brooke) Payne; great-great-grandchildren, Sophia Rees, Rose Rees, Riggs Nunnally and Braxton Payne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Chatham Starrett, and a son-in-law, Gary Brown.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 11am – 12:45pm Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Graveside services will be held at Roselane Cemetery on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at one o’clock with Mr. Mason Payne and Rev. John Payne officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, James Rees, Shane Angel, Mason Payne, John Payne, Max Nunnally and Austin Rees.
A special thanks to Brenda Adams who sat through the long nights with us, and to Dr. Marc Coan and the ladies, Sara, Anna, Eve and others who work with Amedysis Hospice, what an amazing group.
