Mr. William Harold Atkinson
Mr. William Harold Atkinson, age 92, of Toccoa, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025 at his home.
Born March 6, 1933 in Franklin County, GA, he was the son of the late Will T. and Hattie Andrews Atkinson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Belle Landry Atkinson. After Belle died in 2011, he met Shelby Crooks in 2012 and they later married in 2019.
Harold retired from Lawson Motor Company, where he worked for forty years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa and was a member of the Adult #3 Sunday School Class. He was a United States Air Force Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Toccoa Lodge #4346, the Toccoa Masonic Lodge, the E. L. McConnell Council #40, the Royal Arch Mason #21, the Shriners (Crown of Honor Point), the Commandry #33, the Order of the Eastern Stars #2947, the Toccoa Elks Lodge #1820, and the Toccoa Lions Club.
Family members include his wife, Shelby Crooks Atkinson; daughters, Pam Williams of Spartanburg, SC, and Pat Edwards (Chad) of Newnan, GA; stepdaughter, Sherry Bradley (Jack); grandchildren, Hayli Evans, Connor Edwards, Payton Edwards (Savannah) and Madison Edwards; step-grandchildren, Chris, Clay (Jennifer) and Candice.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from noon until 1:30pm Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Toccoa with the Rev. David Ritcey officiating.
Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Billy Lawson, Stacey Gunn, Jack Bradley, Chad Edwards, Payton Edwards and Connor Edwards. The Adult #3 Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
