Mr. William Eugene “Gene” Crawford

Mr. William Eugene “Gene” Crawford, age 96, of Eastanollee, GA, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 at his home.

Born June 2, 1929 in Phil Campbell, Alabama, he was the son of the late Emory Weatherly Crawford and Vesta Cash Crawford.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he served as an usher and deacon and honored as Deacon Emeritus. Gene was retired from General Motors with 30 years of service. He also had a lawn care business and enjoyed gardening.

Family members include his wife, Bernice Louise Mashburn Crawford, daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Dr. Michael Jenkins of Jefferson, GA and Nancy and Bob Detty of Indianapolis, IN; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Garry and Kathy Crawford of Toccoa and James and Lynn Crawford of Gainesville, GA; sister, Faye Price of Columbia, SC; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary Thursday, June12, 2025 from 12:30pm until 1:45pm.

Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Thursday, June 12, 2025 in the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Mike Petty and Dr. Michael Jenkins officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.

The following grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Darren Jenkins, Bryan Crawford, Bronson Crawford, Chase Crawford, Carson Crawford, and Brett Detty. Honorary pallbearers: Lloyd York, William Slater, Erwin Carter, Gene Hulsey.
