Mr. Samuel Jerry “Sammy” Crump

Mr. Samuel Jerry “Sammy” Crump, 77, of Athens Road, Royston, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Sammy was born in Toccoa on April 28, 1943, son of the late Henry Moseley Crump and Lucy Loretta Jordan Standridge. He was a retired electrician and an avid motorcycle rider. He was a member of American Legion Post 251 in Duluth and was a Mason.

Survivors include his children: Joey Crump of Martin, Sharon Patterson of Lavonia, and Karen Bond of Royston; siblings: Roger Crump of Lawrenceville and Deborah Pitts of Toccoa; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Teresa Crump; grandson, Joshua Crump; and sister, Trina Wilbanks.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020, 4 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Jerome Hill officiating.

 

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until the service time. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed.
