Mr. Ronald Dean Wade

Ronald Dean Wade, 69, entered into his Lord’s presence Monday evening, October 19, 2020.

 

Ron was born to Charles W. Wade and D. Ruth Josephensen Wade at Kindley AFB, Bermuda, in March 1951. Ron moved from West Palm Beach, Florida, to Toccoa, Georgia, with his family in 1966, and attended school at Toccoa Falls Highschool. As an adult, Ron decided to continue to live his life in Toccoa, loving the trees, foot hills and mountains of the area. Ron was a humble Christian man dedicated to his faith in God and to his family. Ron was an active member of First Alliance Church of Toccoa, serving on the Trustee Board for many years and serving his church in any manner he could. Ron retired from Coats & Clark after 38 years of service, and then in 2019, from Patterson Pump after 13 years, while he maintained his own business of 30 years, Ron’s Residential Redesign. Ron married Dixie Thompson from high school, and was a loving, supportive husband until her passing in 2007. In 2012, Ron met Susan Morris through a mutual friend They were married February 28, 2013, at Toccoa Falls Gate Cottage. Susan was the love of Ron’s life and he was hers. Ron and Susan celebrated their love by making every day an adventure together. They made their home in Toccoa. Ron was under the care of Homestead Hospice for his final weeks. Ron passed peacefully at his home after his 9 year battle with cancer attended by his adoring wife.

 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Wade and D. Ruth Josephensen Wade, and first wife, Dixie Thompson Wade. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Morris Wade, of the home, his two brothers, James W. (Marian) Wade – residing in N. Augusta, SC, and Donald G. (Barbara) Wade – residing in Dover, FL, and sister, Janice Wade Baber, Toccoa. Ron is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews, and many loving members of his Morris family.

 

The funeral and Celebration of Life Service to honor Ron Wade’s life will take place Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Ferrell Towns officiating. Interment will follow at Roselane Cemetery. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Masks are encouraged but not required. There will be no pubic viewing prior to the service.

 

Friends may express their appreciation of Ron’s touch in their life in any manner they wish. If desired, donations may be made in his honor to Emory Cancer Research,, American Cancer Society, or First Alliance Church Missionary Project Fund.
