Mr. Michael Allen Burns

Mr. Michael Allen Burns, age 54, of Alto, GA passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at his home.

Born February 26, 1971 in Dothan, AL, he was the son of Linda Joyce DeFoor Burns Gore and the late Rev. Douglas Wayne Burns.

Before he became disabled, Mr. Burns was a dump truck driver for Tony Cook Trucking in Cornelia, GA.  He was a member of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church.  In his younger years, he enjoyed going on Youth Mission trips.  He loved spending time with his family.

Family members include his wife, Kippy Lynn Burns, of Alto, GA; son, Drew Burns, of Alto, GA; mother, Linda Gore (Johnny), of Toccoa; brother, Bryan Burns (Lisa), of Carnesville, GA; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frankie & Elmo Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Burns.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary at 3 o’clock Wednesday, July 30, 2025 with the Rev. Wayne Marcus and the Rev. Jason DeFoor officiating.

Burial will follow at Hunters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  Randy Callahan, Jeff Caudell, Evan Burns, Grayson York, Mike South and Chris Powell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at mda.org.
