Mr. L.D. Pitts
Mr. L.D. Pitts, age 79 of Lakeland Drive, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late Sherman and Florence Cooper Pitts, he was born July 23, 1946, in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was self-employed as an automobile mechanic and body repair. He was of the Church of God faith. He loved restoring old cars and telling stories. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death a son, Thomas Pitts and by five brothers, Charlie Sherman Pitts, Wilburn Pitts, Claude Pitts, Marvin Pitts and Curtis Pitts.
Survivors include his loving wife of the last 20 years, Brandy Ray; sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and DeShawna Pitts of Eastanollee, Timmy and Kim Pitts and Tyson Dale Pitts both of Toccoa; stepsons, Thomas (Cheyenne) Martin, Will (Danielle) Martin and Jonathan Martin all of Canon Georgia; six grandchildren, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jackson and Ruth Pitts, Jimmy and Liz Pitts and Terry and Janet Pitts; sisters and brother-in-law, Sadie and Terry Metcalfe, Ollie Wood and Mary Kesler; a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be Saturday, January 10, 2026, 1 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church, off Jordan Road, Toccoa with The Reverend Travis Pitts officiating.
