Mr. John W Heaton
Mr. John W Heaton, age 85 of Antioch Church Road, Toccoa passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
A son of the late John Lee Heaton and Sadie Woods Heaton, he was born November 14, 1940, in Stephens County, Georgia where he had lived most of his life. John began his career as a brick mason and later traveled the southeast selling leather goods. He also served as the local bail bondsman for many years before retiring from Ace Bail Bonding in 2013. After retiring, he enjoyed riding the roads and meeting his family for coffee and breakfast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Betsy (Floyd) Yearwood, Lois (Curtis) Martin, Sarah Lee (Ray) Childs, Harold Heaton, and Carlton (Faye) Heaton.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Hewatt Heaton; four sons and three daughters; Morris (Nicole) Heaton, Ginger (Brent) Haddock, Richard (Karen) Heaton, David (Charzel) Emanuel, Wayne Emanuel, Elizabeth (Bradley) Collins, & Cheryl (Jon) Zeches. He also has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; Tyler, Taylor, Willow, Lorianne, Chris, Haley, Rhett, Haydan, Tiffany, Mark, Stella, Blayze, Tyra, Mae, Ashley, Shannon, Kimberly, Hope, Mason, Cole, Brayden, Joshua, Jeremiah, Nathan, Breanna, Ricky, Alexis, Savannah, and Megan. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jerry & Janice Heaton and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 3, 2026, 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Don Scott officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Tyler Heaton, Blayze Haddock, Alan Yearwood, Chris Stowe, Rhett Langston and Haydan Bales. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Heaton and Don Heaton.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. John W Heaton.
