Mr. Jeffrey Howard “Jeff” Watkins

Mr. Jeffrey Howard “Jeff” Watkins, age 57, of Martin, GA, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at his home.

Born December 2, 1964 in Toccoa, he was the son of Mac Howard and Mary Helen Hulsey Watkins.  Jeff grew up working with his father on the family farm and also running a logging business.  He was a member of Eastanollee Baptist Church where he was the head brotherhood cook since he was in his 20’s.  Jeff was an active member of the local Young Farmer’s Chapter and the Cattlemen’s Association.  He was an active member with Farm Bureau and served on the board of directors as the Chaplain.  He also served as a member of Farm Bureau’s State Young Farmer and Ranchers Committee for 2 years.  Jeff loved working outdoors and working on the family farm.  He also worked at Home Depot and Morgan Concrete.

Family members include his wife, Susan Looney Watkins; daughter and son-in-law, Hannah and Taylor Haygood of Martin; parents Mac and Mary Watkins of Martin; brother and sister-in-law, Cale and Anna Watkins of Lavonia; nephews, Sawyer Watkins and Asher Watkins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Annie Mae Looney; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chris and Terry Looney; nephew, Braz Looney.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at three-thirty Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Eastanollee Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Jackson and the Rev. Ricky McFarlin officiating.

Burial will follow at Eastanollee Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cale Watkins, Chris Looney, Taylor Haygood, Lee Cantrell, Robert Burton, Roger Collins, Mike Meeks and Casey Sheriff will serve as pallbearers.

Farm Bureau Board Members will serve as honorary pallbearers and will meet at Eastanollee Baptist Church at 3:00 pm on Wednesday.
