Mr. Howard Haws Roach
Mr. Howard Haws Roach, 91, of Royston, GA, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center-Braselton surrounded by his wife and children.
Mr. Roach was born in Franklin County, GA on June 4, 1933, son of the late Osier Roach and the late Sid Murray Roach. He was a United States Marine Veteran having served during the Korean War, a member of the Marine Corps League in Toccoa, GA and the Royston VFW. Mr. Roach was a Teamster having retired after 30 years with Roadway Express. After retirement he volunteered for several years with Toys for Tots and also worked as an extra for several TV shows and movies. He was an avid reader of all books, but western books were his favorite.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Hal Roach and Hugh Roach; and sister, Bette Anne Alexander.
Survivors include his wife and love of his life, Evelyn Fowler Roach; sons, Mark Roach (Kathy) of Royston, GA, Marty Roach (Donna) of Royston, GA; daughters, Marla Brawner (Vernon) of Franklin Springs, GA, and Mandy Amerson (Randy) of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Mason Roach, Morgan Carter (Zach), Leanna Langford (Tyler), Ansley Powell (Caleb), Erica Chumley (Matthew), Elise Gibson, Randall Brawner, Nicholas Brawner, Perry Benton (Mattie), and Grace London (Gavin); and seven great grandchildren and one on the way.
He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather who loved his family more than anything. His greatest joy was seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren walk through his door.
Funeral services for Mr. Roach will be held in the Royston Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, with Rev. James Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Holiness Church Cemetery in Royston.
The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening. During other times the family will be at the home.
