Mr. Harold James “Jay” Ansley

Mr. Harold James “Jay” Ansley, age 77 of Toccoa, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Stephens County Hospital.

Jay is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maryann Domek Ansley of the home; son, Stephen Michael Ansley of San Diego, CA; sister, Susan Ansley Loggins of Oakwood, GA; brother, Roy Ansley of Cornelia, GA; and two nephews, Zackary Loggins and Jacob Ansley.

He was preceded by his father, Harold O. Ansley and by his mother, Ann Wilson Ansley of Cornelia, GA; and a sister Marion Ansley Brown of Demorest, GA.

He was a second son to his wife’s parents, Peter S. and Patricia M. Domek, of Orange, CT. He was loved by all who met him and will be sorely missed.

Jay was a proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard where he spent a year on Wake Island fulfilling isolated duty. He also served various other stations, including Miami Beach, FL. In his life, Jay was the original “Mr. Fixit” and was a Master Tool and Die Maker. He also ran his own Auto Body Business in CT as a hobby, setting him up for a secondary career as a certified auto mechanic and auto body repairman. His knowledge led him to several positions of Auto Body Manager when they lived in Gaithersburg, MD, until he retired.

Jay’s wishes were to be cremated.  No services are planned at this time.
