Mr. Glenn Kesler

Mr. Glenn Kesler, age 84 of Toccoa passed away Saturday September 17, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Son of the late Roy Lee and Ruby Elrod Kesler, he was born August 5, 1938 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Julian Cash, Fred Jordan, Jackie Harrison, Robert Carter, Jr., sister-in-law Doris Carter and a niece Karen Cash.

Survivors include his wife Marlene Carter Kesler of the home, sisters Adrian Jordan, Lavoyn Harrison, and Janell Little (Bradley) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church; he served as Treasurer, Director of Senior Saints and was a member of Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was a graduate of Franklin County High School, class of 1956. He was instrumental in locating all fifty members of his graduating class and initiated class reunions. Glenn was employed by the United States Postal Service having served thirty four years as a letter carrier in downtown Toccoa. He was elected as President of the Local Letter Carriers and was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers having received a gold card honoring fifty years of membership.

He was married to the love of his life, Marlene Carter Kesler for sixty two years. He reminded his wife often of his love for her by saying “I love you more today than yesterday!”

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 20, 2022 at 11 A.M. at New Hope Baptist Church with the Reverend David Sosebee, the Reverend Jewell Gaines and the Reverend Bobby Jones officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers John Brewington, Edward Elrod, David Elrod, Terry Cash, Tim Cash, Mark Little, Lamar Little and Alan Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Carter, Senior Saints, Fulbright Sunday School Class and Friendship Sunday School Class.

The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Online condolences can be made by visiting our website www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by United States Army Honor Guard.
