Mr. Gary Thomas Atkinson

Mr. Gary Thomas Atkinson, 69, of Royston, GA and formerly of Toccoa passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Atkinson was born in Toccoa, GA on October 8, 1951, son of the late Eldridge Thomas “Hoss” Atkinson and the late Zerlene Iona Shuler Atkinson. He was an engineer having worked for Caterpillar in Jefferson, GA and served as a leader in AA. Mr. Atkinson was also of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Atkinson and Dave Atkinson.

Survivors include his sons, Seth Atkinson and Micah Atkinson both of Palatka, FL; fiancé, Donna Burrell of Royston, GA; brother, Hal Atkinson of Bristol, FL; and grandchildren, Mason Thomas Atkinson, Charlotte Rose Atkinson and Elizabeth Grace Atkinson.

A memorial service for Mr. Atkinson will be held in the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021.

The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home immediately following the service on Sunday afternoon. The family is at their respective homes.
