Mr. Douglas Jake Yearwood

Mr. Douglas Jake Yearwood, age 74 of Black Mountain Road, Toccoa passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Stephens County Hospital.

A son of the late Jake and Irene Pitts Yearwood, he was born June 2, 1951, in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.  He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.  He loved being outdoors, fishing and riding horses and his passion was playing the drums.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by three brothers, Phillip Cecil Yearwood, Harold William Yearwood and Ricky Yearwood.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Tonia Yearwood; daughters and sons-in-law, Jolene Yearwood (Patrick Terrell) of Toccoa and Rachel Yearwood (Joe Griffin) of North Carolina; step-son and daughter-in-law, James Baxter (Marlena) of Toccoa; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

His wishes were to be cremated.  A service will be held at a later date.
