Mr. Charlie Monroe “Pete” Moore

Mr. Charlie Monroe “Pete” Moore, age 76, of Toccoa, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin, GA.

Born May 11, 1944 in Toccoa, he was the son of the late Charlie Moore and Annie Lou Williams Moore.  He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.  He was a graduate of Toccoa High School.  Pete was a dog lover, and he enjoyed flower gardens and gospel music.  He loved being surrounded by his family he loved so much.

Family members include his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra Langel Moore of Toccoa; sister and brother-in-law, Helen Moore Powell and William of Westminster, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Bruce and Rhonda Moore of Lavonia; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Langel Stults and Greg of Denver, CO; nieces, Melissa Powell Singleton and Danny of Westminster, SC, Christy Powell Arnold and Greg of Seneca, SC, and Carrie Moore of Lavonia, GA; nephews, Corey Powell and Brooke of Westminster, Craig Moore of Toccoa; Brian Moore and Ruchi of Ashville, NC, John and William Stults of Denver, CO; great-nieces, Aubrey Powell, Kinsley, Kayla, and Arya Moore; great-nephews, Daniel Singleton, Kayden and Seth Moore.

Funeral services will be held at four o’clock Tuesday, February 23, 2021from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Bruce Moore and the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Corey Powell, Danny Singleton, Daniel Singleton, and Greg Arnold.  Aubrey Powell will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2:30 pm until the service on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P. O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.

Due to the conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, social distancing will be observed.  Those attending the service are encouraged to wear a mask.
