Mr. Charles David Kesler

Mr. Charles David Kesler, age 80 of Cedar Lane, Toccoa, GA, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at his residence.

A son of the late Clarence and Mattie Swift Kesler,, he was born January 2, 1941 in Stephens County, Ga. He returned back to Toccoa some 30 years ago after retiring from the U.S. Army where he served 26 years, having done two tours in Vietnam.  He also served in the Honor guard for President Eisenhower and President Kennedy and was the youngest Sergeant Major during his career. After retirement he received his B.A. degree from Truett McConnell College.  He was preceded in death by siblings Gary Kesler, Phillip Kesler and Anna Sue Kesler.

Survivors include his wife Patsy Mealor Kesler of the home, son Randy Kesler of Olathe, Kansas two daughters and sons-in-law: Tina and Ronnie Morris of Toccoa, GA, Karen and Jim Kelley of Gwinnett, GA, Grandchildren: Emily Kesler, Christina Kelley, Bradley Kesler, Craig Morris and Blake Morris, a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the U.S. Army Honor guard and the V.F.W. post 4346 in charge of graveside rites.  The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 5 until 7 PM.

The following will serve as pallbearers, Ronnie Morris, James Kelley, Blake Morris, Larry Mealor, Craig Morris and Rockey Shedd.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of services for Mr. Charles David Kesler.
