Mr. Bobby Joe Ivester

Today we gather to honor and remember Bobby Joe Ivester, a man whose life was marked not by loud achievements, but by quiet strength, loyalty, and love.

Bobby was born on December 26, 1950, and throughout his life he remained a simple man in the truest and best sense of the word. He didn’t ask for much, and he didn’t need much—because what mattered most to him was the people around him. Bobby was a great man, and an even greater friend to many. He had a way of showing up, standing firm, and being present in ways that spoke louder than words ever could.

Family meant everything to Bobby. He cherished those he loved deeply, especially his family, and he held them close in his heart. He is survived by his sisters Shelia Adams Fowler and Deborah Sosby, and his brother-in-law Danny Fowler, who each shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love with him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Reidling, his father, Jr. Adams, his brothers Albert, Charlie, and Frankie Ivester, Mikey Adams, and his beloved niece, Alisha Gordon. Though he carried the weight of these losses, he did so with quiet resilience and strength, never allowing sorrow to take away from the love he continued to give.
Those who knew Bobby knew a man who valued connection, loyalty, and kindness. He didn’t need to be the center of attention to be felt. His presence was steady, comforting, and genuine. He taught us that a meaningful life isn’t measured by how much you have, but by how much you care—and Bobby cared deeply.
Today, as we say goodbye, we also say thank you. Thank you, Bobby, for your love, your friendship, your simplicity, and your unwavering devotion to family. Though he may be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts.
May we honor his memory by loving one another the way he loved—fully, quietly, and sincerely. Rest in peace, Bobby. You will always be remembered.
