Mobile Job Training Unit to Stop in Toccoa

A mobile job training unit will return to Toccoa next week to help area residents.

The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission Workforce Development Mobile Training Unit will set up at the Toccoa-Stephens County Library on Monday.

Mobile Training Unit Instructor Micah Thomas said the mobile unit can provide people with help on their resumes.

“We offer resume assistance, so if you have a resume, we can help you with reviewing it and critiquing it,” said Thomas. “If you need to write a resume, we have computer software that can help with that. Myself and another gentleman are there to offer suggestions and guidance and help you write the best resume possible.”

Thomas went on to say that people can receive a lot of other job search-related assistance at the mobile unit.

“We also offer information about tuition assistance programs,” said Thomas. “We also offer assistance when doing online job applications; we provide information for different job opportunities in the area.”

The mobile training unit will be at the Toccoa-Stephens County Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday.

The library is located on West Savannah Street in Toccoa.

Thomas said the unit is open to everybody and adds there is no cost to use any of the mobile unit’s services.

No appointments are necessary, but Thomas said arriving earlier allows people to receive assistance quicker and ensure they get in.
