Meadowbrook Machine and Tool Expanding

A local industry is announcing an expansion.

Meadowbrook Machine and Tool on the Clary Connector in Eastanollee has announced that it has started expanding its operations.

Bill Cochran is Production Manager for the company.

He said Meadowbrook Machine and Tool is adding more CNC machines to its facility over the next few months.

“We have recently purchased seven additional CNC machines,” said Cochran.

He said the expansion will allow the company to improve productivity and service customers better.

CNC machining involves the use of computers to control machine tools, like lathes, mills, and grinders.

Meadowbrook Machine and Tool Owner Harold Jordan said they expect the expansion to be complete by February.

The company will also be adding jobs that the new expansion is creating, looking to fill positions of experienced CNC machinists.

Company officials did not have an exact number of jobs at this time that are being created.

Stephens County Development Authority Chairman Dean Scarborough said he is pleased to hear of the expansion at an existing industry.

“The Development Authority and Stephens County are excited about Meadowbrook Machine and Tool’s expansion,” said Scarborough. “Most of all, we congratulate Harold Jordan and staff for their successful operation and this expansion.”

Chamber officials are also congratulating Meadowbrook Machine and Tool on the expansion.

Meadowbrook Machine and Tool opened in 1985 and makes parts for a variety of industrial applications.

Currently, the business said on its website it fills over 18,000 square feet and is staffed by more than 35 individuals.
