Officers with the Toccoa Police Department recently responded to a call regarding stolen property; however, once on scene, they locate a marijuana plant growing inside a closet.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, his officers were dispatched to 83 Crestlawn Drive, in reference to stolen property.

Upon their arrival, officers were greeted by Redda Earls Holland, 54, of Toccoa who told them Donald Eric Holland, 51, of Toccoa had taken her cell phone and when she tried to retrieve it, he grabbed her around the neck.

As officers were speaking to Redda Holland inside the residence, they detected the odor of burnt and green marijuana.

Mize says that after officers gained permission to search the home, they located a marijuana plant with grow lights in an upstairs closet and a 12-gauge shotgun next to the closet.

He adds that additional marijuana and drug related objects were also found downstairs inside the residence.
