Man Arrested with Theft from Local Church

Last Wednesday, deputies from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to The Pointe Church regarding a theft. Deputies met with a representative from the church that discovered two batteries, valued at $800, had been stolen from two golf carts which are owned by the church.

The church staff were able to provide a video that captured a white male suspect, as well as his vehicle on camera. Investigators were able to recognize the individual from previous encounters and determined that it was Timothy Pace of Toccoa.

Further investigation revealed that the alleged suspect, Pace, went to a local salvage yard and sold the stolen items. Staff from the salvage yard provided investigators with paperwork of the suspect who sold them the stolen property.

Investigators observed Pace driving shortly after leaving the salvage yard and conducted a traffic stop where he was placed under arrest.

Pace was transported to the Stephens County Jail where he was charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree. He is currently being held pending a bond hearing.
